Dr. Kulikowski's current research is primarily on projects in image interpretation using planning and learning techniques, and on methods of theory formation for classification, configuration, planning and design problems. Biomedical applications involve the automatic interpretation of MR brain scans, clinical diagnostic models combining AI and decision analytic methods, and investigations of expert reasoning in experimental design and learning for structure elucidation in nucleic acids and proteins.
