Cognitive Science majors may receive Honors in Cognitive Science in one of two ways:

(1) Based on GPA at the beginning of Senior year. At the beginning of the Fall semester of Senior year, the student must have an overall GPA of at least 3.2 and a GPA within Cognitive Science of at least 3.5. See below for the level of honors determination.

OR

(2) Enroll in a year-long Senior Honors Thesis course (185:495 and 185:496) and complete a thesis. Students must have an overall GPA of at least 3.2, a GPA of at least 3.5 in courses being counted toward the Cognitive Science major, and permission of the faculty member. Please download and complete the Honors Thesis Application. Upon approval, students will receive a special permission number to add the course.

In both cases, the level of honors — according to the designations `Honors', `High Honors', and `Highest Honors’ — will be determined by the students GPA range in Cognitive Science: Honors, 3.5-3.69; High Honors, 3.7-3.89; Highest Honors, 3.9-4.0.
