Undergraduate research assistants are sought to assist us in running
(animal) subjects and analyzing data. We are developing fully
automated quantitative behavioral screens for genetic alterations in
memory function in mice. Interns are expected to spend 10 to 20 hours
per week running the mice. This involves weighing them, putting them
in the apparatus, and removing them from the apparatus at appropriate
times. They are also expected to do extensive, computerized data
analysis. Finally, they are required to write a paper in the form of
an experimental proposal, describing the background and purpose for
the experiment they are helping to run, the apparatus and procedures,
and the data analysis. There is a weekly lab meeting, where we review
the results, discuss their implications and possible interpretations,
and review the intellectual background for the work. Please contact
