Our lab investigates various aspects of child and adult language. We are especially interested in how children acquire the meaning of words, how children and adults arrive at sentence interpretations and how these two age groups compare with each other developmentally, and how sound and meaning interact in context.
Our lab director is Dr. Kristen Syrett, a faculty member in the Department of Linguistics and the Center for Cognitive Science.

We are actively seeking parents and children to participate in our child language studies, and undergraduates to participate in our "grown up" studies. We offer a number of opportunities for students to get involved in hands-on research.
