APS 2010 - Association for Psychological Science 2010 Convention Abstract

Haladjian, Chesney, & Pylyshyn (2010). Does the tracking of moving objects interfere with subitizing? 22nd Annual Convention of the Association for Psychological Science, Boston, MA.

We devised a dual-task experiment to investigate the role of visual indexes in small number judgments. Observers were required to track moving circles and enumerate a set of squares that were flashed during the trial. Results suggest a shared mechanism for multiple object tracking and small-set enumeration.
