The Cognitive Development Lab
has openings for undergraduate research and intern
positions.
Students participate in laboratory
activities for about 6 hours weekly. Depending on
experience, interest, and computer skills, you may
assist
in operating a video-based remote eye-tracker device
analyze data by computer
program experiments
assist in experiments
with infants (6 -12 months), preschoolers, or autistic children
recruit infant subjects
and area preschools and schedule appointments
analyze videotapes
or computer-generate stimuli
attend lab pizza parties!
You
must be available at least one weekday morning and occasional Saturdays.
Excellent interpersonal skills are vital when working with parents and
children.
Preference is given to students who are willing to stay at least two semesters
or one
semester and a summer. Typically, students work for credit.
The lab is well equipped
for Honors thesis research.
Summer fellowships and
other funding may be available for outstanding
students. Dr. Leslie has supervised many Departmental and Henry Rutgers honors students. Five students have
also won prestigious Rutgers or Aresty Undergraduate Fellowships worth $2,000
for summer research in the lab.
