He completed his BA in a Great Books Program at St. John’s College. His research focuses on the contextual and developmental forces that shape how abstractly we think and how we reason about abstract entities. His dissertation work investigated differences in abstract thought across and within cultures, operationalizing abstract thought in different ways (i.e., event cognition and analogical reasoning). In the Quad Lab, he studies how context and time may shape the way we think about quantitative information, such as proportions and probabilities.
