RuCCS Colloquia
Use of statistical data when making inferences
Dr. Natalie A. Obrecht
Tuesday, December 06, 2016, 01:00pm - 02:00pm
William Paterson University of New Jersey, Department of Psychology
Much of the work in judgment and decision making highlights how people fail to use data in a normative manner. I will show that although inferences are often flawed, laypeople have statistical intuitions and are able to integrate them with their causal understanding of the world.
The RuCCS Colloquia Series is organized by Dr. Julien Musolino and Dr. Sara Pixley. The talks are held on Tuesdays in the Psychology Building, Room 101 on the Busch Campus from 1:00-2:30pm.
Note: If you would like to receive email announcements about the colloquium series, please contact the Business Office to have your name added to our announce lists at business_manager@ruccs.rutgers.edu.
