Upstart is a leading AI lending platform using artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate the borrowing process and to price credit. In addition to their consumer-facing lending platform, Upstart provides technology to banks, credit unions, and other partners via enterprise SaaS technology offerings. Michael is an Applied Mathematics Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis. He is a data scientist and has worked on applications including neuroscience, psychology, brain-computer interface systems, medical devices, applied genomics, and text analytics. He is also an expert in areas including dynamical systems, statistics, and computational methods. Currently, he is the manager at Machine Learning Group at Upstart. As Recruiting Lead, Catherine Reynolds manages a team of recruiters focused on hiring Machine Learning talent at Upstart.
