Health outcomes are determined in part by the behavior of individuals, andthese behaviors are in turn guided by internal decision processes.  Howcan an understanding of cognitive processes be harnassed to promotehealthier behavior? In this talk I use vaccination behavior as a test bedfor addressing this question.  I present studies that examine howvaccination decisions are influenced by framing, free riding, and thedefault effect.
