Spring 2023 Cognitive Science Evolution, Cognition and Culture class field trip

The Spring 2023 Cognitive Science Evolution, Cognition, and Culture class with Professor Robinson went on a field trip to
The American Museum of Natural History along with Professor Scott's Anthropology Introduction to Human Evolution class.

The student's ability to apply course material while looking at the exhibits gave them a sense of achievement!

A new technological framework for uncovering the neural systems important for recovery after spinal cord injury.

victoria

Abstract: Interventions that increase plasticity and regeneration after spinal cord injury (SCI) are improving, but little is known about the neural systems that would be most effective to target such interventions. Our work both identifies the neural cell types and synaptic mechanisms that would be most effective to target such interventions and establishes an artificial intelligence (AI)-based platform for fast, reliable and unbiased quantification of motor recovery. Our experimental scrutiny at both the neural and behavioral levels establishes a critical foundation for developing a prominent research program studying the spinal cord circuits important for sensorimotor function and recovery following SCI.

Michael Lewis awarded the Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Research

Please join us in congratulating Michael Lewis for being awarded the Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Research for the academic year 2018-2019. This has also been an eventful year for Michael, who received a Lifetime Distinguished Contribution Award from the International Congress of Infant Studies earlier this year.

Elizabeth Torres awarded the Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Research

We are excited to congratulate Elizabeth Torres for being awarded the Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Research for the academic year 2018-2019. This is the highest honor for outstanding research contributions that the university awards to tenured faculty. Dr. Torres has had an incredible year, from launching her new autism center to securing her patent for work related to methods in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders.

RuCCS Students Launch the First Undergraduate Cognitive Science Journal in the World
