Her talk "Building Robots with Emotional Intelligence" is at 1pm on Busch Campus, Pharmacy Building, Room 111 followed by "Panel Discussion: The Social/Ethical Implications of AI" at 5pm in College Avenue Campus, Voorhees Hall, Room 105.

Papathomas, Silverstein and Farkas Team Awarded Grants by TechAdvance and NJHF
We congratulate the research team of Thomas Papathomas, Steve Silverstein and Attila Farkas, who have been awarded two grants to develop and test a patent-pending portable device as a diagnostic and evaluating tool for schizophrenia (SZ). The grants are funded by TechAdvance and the New Jersey Health Foundation (NJHF). They will support the final stages of developing a stand-alone application for a smartphone that will enable testing of SZ patients in their own environment, as well as experiments to test inpatients upon hospital admission.
Two Cognitive Science Certificate Students Awarded Fellowships by RDI2
We are thrilled to announce that two of our cognitive certificate students received the Fellowship for Excellence in Computation and Data Science from RDI2
- Malihe Alikhani (Computer Science, mentor: Matthew Stone)
- Ji Hye Ryu (Psychology, mentor: Elizabeth Torres).
Each fellowship appointment will be for one year and comes with $30,000 towards GA support, with potential for renewal. This award supported up to three PhD students across the university working on interdisciplinary computational research projects, and it is very impressive that 2 cognitive science graduate certificate students received this fellowship.
