Science for Preschoolers? Yes and No

Dr Rochel Gelman was a guest presenter on the National Center on Quality Teaching and Learning Broadcast on 8/27/12.  She spoke about Early Childhood Science.  The idea re 'no', do not do a push-down curriculum.  Kids know enough to build relevant organized knowledge and start to use key science tools, including recording and dating their work.

Thomas Papathomas' Hollow Body and Mask Illusion 4th at the 2012 BIOTY Contest

An illusion designed and developed at RuCCS' own Laboratory for Vision Research was a top-ten finalist in the 2012 Best Illusion of the Year (BIOTY) contest, among more than 60 entries from around the world. It was voted #4 at the annual BIOTY show.

6th Annual Perceptual Science Forum

On Monday, May 7th, 2012 The 6th Annual Perceptual Science Forum took place in the CoRE Building Atrium & Auditorium on Busch Campus. 

The event began with a keynote address by Dr. Alex Berg from the Stony Brook University, Department of Computer Science. Dr. Berg spoke about "Large Scale Recognition in Computer Vision".
