In this talk, I will share my research findings on how we understand time and the role that it plays in influencing our judgments and decisions. I will discuss results from several studies, primarily experiments, that provide insights into the psychology behind questions such as the following: How do we think about time? How much is our time worth? How do we make decisions for time differently than that for money? How does time influence our patience and self-control? I will also discuss some implications of my results, particularly for public policy.
